Visitors to Bethlehem

Annual Christmas concert to feature excerpts from ‘Amahl and the Night Visitors’

""

The Walla Walla University Department of Music will present their annual Christmas concert, Friday, Dec. 6, with the first performance at 6 p.m. and the second performance at 8 p.m. The concert will feature the University Singers, the WWU Orchestra, and I Cantori.

The theme of the concert will focus on the connection between Christmas and visitors. Pieces such as “The Adoration of the Magi” by Ottorino Respighi, “The Birth of Christ” Op. 97 by Felix Mendelssohn, and excerpts from “Amahl and the Night Visitors” by Gian Carlo Menotti, tell the stories of the visitors in Bethlehem the night of that first Christmas.

The concert is WWU’s gift to the community, enabled by donations from generous listeners. Admission to the concert is free, although small monetary donations are appreciated.

The event will be held at the Walla Walla University Church, located at 204 S. College Ave., College Place, WA.
