On Sunday, February 23, the Walla Walla University Department of Music will be hosting their annual Young Artist Night concert. Performances will start at 7 p.m. in the Melvin K. West Fine Arts Center Recital Hall, 200 S. College Ave., College Place; admission is free and open to the public.
Unlike many of the department’s other recitals and concerts, the musicians for the Young Artist Night Concert are carefully selected by audition only. This is a special showcase concert featuring the department’s top students as soloists. This year, 15 students have been chosen to perform their most well-practiced repertoire piece: music will include works by Mozart, Bach, Mendelssohn, Franck, Boulanger, Quilter, and Bock, among others.
All are welcome to come enjoy an evening of beautiful music and witness the hard work of these talented music majors and minors.
This year’s performers will include Aden Barbuta, Andrew Barbuta, AlyssaKate Carinan, Amanda Chureson, Lauren Ellis, Noah Hahn, Timothy Kerbs, Christopher Kime, Amanda Kitto, Emma Little, Luke Palau, Austin Price, Samuel Schafer, Simon Sheperd, and Madeline Stone.
