This series highlights students who will participate in athletics at Walla Walla University during the 2018–19 academic year.
WWU golfer, Lindsey Shearer, is from Battle Ground, Washington, and graduated from Columbia Adventist Academy in 2015. She is entering into her senior year and is majoring in business with a focus on finance and management. She has plans to become an entrepreneur.
Last year, Shearer received the Most Valuable Player Award for her role on the women’s golf team. This year, her personal goals are to keep improving and to have fun.
“Being a part of athletics challenges me to find a balance between practice, play, and school,” she said. “Golf has taught me patience and how to be mentally strong.” Shearer also appreciates the friendships that she has made with her teammates through playing the lifelong sport of golf.
When she isn’t on the course, Shearer enjoys watching golf, playing tennis, and spending time with friends. A few fun facts about Shearer:
