March U-Days FAQ
Questions about March U-Days? Read below to find the answers.
For March U-Days, parents are considered sponsors. Thus, parents are responsible for the same things that sponsors are responsible for. You will receive a full responsibility list a few days prior to arrival.
Our WWU Marketing and Enrollment Services team will act as your sponsor during the event. Please be sure to check in with the designated person as each event and at night check.*
*Failing to do so will result in forfeiture of our generous reimbursement policy.
Students will be hosted in the residence halls. If you would like to request a specific host please contact them directly so that they can sign up as your host.
Sponsors will be hosted in local hotels. We will pair sponsors of the same gender from the same schools in two queen rooms. If you have a preference of who you would like to be paired with, please let us know as soon as possible.
A few days prior to arrival you will receive an email from our event housing coordinator with your lodging arrangements and confirmation number.
We’re excited for you to see your friends here at WWU! Due to the very full schedule of events during U-Days, we would ask that you remain on campus for the duration of your stay. We will have time set aside on Friday for exploring the downtown area of Walla Walla.
Our team arranges a twice-daily transportation run to the local hotel and back to the campus. There will be a pickup in the morning and a return in the evening. Your sponsor packet will include the specific times and the locations that you will meet at.
We have arranged for our Alumni Center Living Room to be available for sponsors. There will be a schedule in your packet of their open hours. When you are not checking in students as part of your sponsor duties you are always welcome to attend the March U-Days events. If you want a break from the events, you are welcome to head to the Alumni Center during any of their open hours.
If you marked on your registration form that you will need transportation, we are planning on picking you up and dropping you off (to and from Walla Walla [ALW] and Pasco [PSC] airports only). We need a copy of your flight itinerary, along with cost of ticket, names of attendees, etc. so that we can make those final arrangements.
We start coordinating the airport transportation after registration closes so that we can be sure to arrange the appropriate vehicles to accommodate all guests. Our transportation coordinator will be in touch a few days prior to your arrival with the name of the person picking you up and their cell phone number.
Important to remember: Be sure you are flying in on Wednesday and out on Sunday. Once the event starts our team is unable to facilitate transportation.
Please arrange your flights to arrive any time on Wednesday and to depart anytime on Sunday. You must be at all required events to be eligible for reimbursement.
All of the details regarding reimbursements is available on our website.
All of your meals will be provided in the University cafeteria. The first available meal will be Wednesday night from 5-6 p.m. The last meal is Saturday night from 5-6 p.m. Check your U-Days schedule to be sure not to miss a meal.
If you are being picked up at the airport we will check you in by providing you with your packet once we have loaded into the transportation vehicle.
If you are arriving by vehicle, you can check in by picking up your packet on Wednesday before 5 pm at the administration Building. If you arrive after 5 pm on Wednesday then you can check in Thursday morning from 8 until 9:45 am at the Kellogg Hall Cafeteria.
