WWU president to deliver Dalton Baldwin Memorial Lecture in Loma Linda

John McVay, president of Walla Walla University, will deliver the annual Dalton Baldwin Memorial Lecture presented by the Loma Linda University School of Religion on 3 p.m. on April 13 in the Damazo Amphitheater.

McVay’s presentation is titled “Health and Healing in the New Testament: Miracles, Reconciled Community, and Eschaton.” Explaining the title, McVay said, “The New Testament invites us to consider our own personal health and health habits but also to do far more–to participate in the inbreaking of God’s kingdom in Jesus expressed in reconciled relationships and communities. We live into resurrection and human thriving as we anticipate the return of Jesus.”

The goal of the Dalton Baldwin Memorial Lecture is to memorialize noted Adventist educator Dalton D. Baldwin, who passed away in 2011 after having taught for 35 years at Loma Linda University. The annual lecture is delivered by noteworthy leaders of religious thought who discuss a broad range of theological topics.

The Damazo Amphitheater is located at 24760 Stewart St., Loma Linda, Calif. More information about the lecture can be found by calling (909) 558-7478 or by emailing religion@llu.edu.
