The bright colors and bold brush strokes of Joel Libby’s new art exhibit at Walla Walla University stand in crisp contrast to the stark winter landscape.
The exhibit, which opened Tuesday, Feb. 26, features influential and historical figures in a pop/street art style. The exhibit features portraits including Martin Luther King Jr., Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Lindbergh, and Grace Kelly.
Libby is an assistant professor of art at WWU and chair of the Department of Art.
The Gold Series is on display through March 21 in WWU’s Clyde and Mary Harris Gallery in the Melvin K. West Fine Arts Center, 200 S. College Ave., College Place. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 2-5 p.m.
