Work had finished for the day and I was cleaning up my impromptu metal shop in the depot when Samuel walked in and said that there was another project for me as he began loading the welder into the back of Jonathan’s truck. He made a quick comment about a truck full of building materials breaking while driving up a hill and that they needed me to weld something. I protested that my two weeks of welding experience was not enough to make any major repairs to a large vehicle, but since he didn’t know what exactly was wrong he told me to come anyway. So then, you might understand my terror when I found myself laying on my back with my head downhill under the jankiest dump truck you have ever seen.
