Library Resources — MSW-Billings
As a WWU MSW student in Billings, Montana, you will most likely access Peterson Memorial Library’s (PML) services and resources from a distance. Regardless of where you are located, the Peterson Memorial Library, its librarians and staff can provide services and resources to support and assist you with your information and research needs.
Resources located on the Library’s MSW Web pages have been selected especially for MSW students and faculty. Library services include reference and research assistance via phone (866) 888-4843 and/or email (reference @ wallawalla.edu) from College Place librarians. Interlibrary loan services are available for materials from Peterson Memorial Library, as well as for articles Peterson doesn’t own. On-site instruction sessions covering location and utilization of online and local information and resources are available during fall quarter.
An array of online databases providing access to articles is available from the database pages. Some databases, such as Academic Search, ERIC, PsycInfo, and Academic Universe, provide access to full-text content. Other databases, such as Social Work Abstracts provide only abstracts. A few databases just provide citations. All of these databases can be accessed from the twelve computers located in the Billings Library/PC lab.
Books and other resources held by WWU libraries are accessible through Peterson’s online catalog, which can be searched from the library’s home page. Full-text resources such as ebooks and ejournals are included in the online catalog. Other library catalogs such as the Montana Library Network (MLN), MSU-Billings, and WorldCat can be accessed from the Regional Montana Libraries page.
WWU students, faculty, and staff may access the databases away from the Billings site, via an authentication server, by entering their regular WWU network Login ID and password. Peterson’s library catalog is free on the Web.
