Hazardous Chemical Communication Policies
Hazardous Chemical Communication Policies (or HCCPs) are required of each department that uses or stores hazardous chemicals. This requirement is in place to comply with WAC 296-800-17030:
"Provide employees with effective information on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial job assignment. Whenever a new physical or health hazard related to chemical exposure is introduced into their employees' work areas, information must be provided."
HCCPs are intended to be active documents, used as a basis for training and updated regularly to reflect changing realities in each department.
