Scholarships

Empower tomorrow's leaders today.

Thanks to thousands of generous donors — alumni, friends, professors, parents, and even students — Walla Walla University provides over 200 scholarships that make Christian higher education possible for hundreds of students each year.

Scholarships are awarded to students on the basis of academic achievement and financial need. A student’s work program may also be considered. Some scholarships are designated for specific majors, or have other restrictions. The Scholarship Committee selects general scholarship recipients, and faculty select recipients of departmental scholarships.

Types of Scholarships

Annual and Endowed Scholarships can be created by contacting the Advancement Office at advancement@wallawalla.edu.

Annual Scholarships — Annual Scholarships are funded by individuals each year. Donors can initiate a new Scholarship with a minimum annual balance of $1,000. It can be named to pay tribute to a family member or other special person.

Endowed scholarships — Endowed scholarships are established with a gift or gifts totaling $25,000 or more, and are funded by interest from the fund's principal. They are commonly named to pay tribute to a family member or other special person. Individual donors can keep funding these scholarships to generate bigger awards.
